GINA KOUYOUMDJIAN

Gina grew up in Burbank, California as a first generation child in a soviet-Armenian family.

Since the age of 5, she has rigorously studied Russian style classical piano and received a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance under the renowned pianist, Dr. Grace Fong at Chapman University’s Hall-Musco Conservatory, in addition to an Art History Minor.

Experimenting with expanding her musical and tonal horizons she discovered music production, synthesis, and composition. Sonic worlds of possibility opened up as she fused her strict classical upbringing with songwriting and visual art. Her unique upbringing and interest in other modes of art has been a huge asset to her music and relationships.

Gina assisted the cutting edge composer, Greg Tripi, in his TV, film, & video game projects including The Fix (2019) on ABC and Blumhouse feature, Ma (2019).

Additionally, Gina worked as a studio assistant to the Emmy-Winning & Grammy-Nominated Composer, Mac Quayle on a number of projects, including Golden Globe Winning Mr. Robot, as well as American Horror Story, 911, 911: Lone Star, Ratched, and The Politician.

Gina is also an internationally distributed composer on APM, featured on albums such as "Mind Cycles”, "Beautiful World”, and “The Dark Side” through Inside Tracks. She frequently contributes to production music libraries, most recently toplining on Pop-style tracks.

Her most recent projects are primarily writing songs for video games, most notably, Bayonetta, T3 Arena, and Quantaar. Her clients include Tencent, XD, GungHo Online Entertainment, and Universal Music Hong Kong.

Gina’s heart and instinct lies in using her voice in both production & songwriting. Her recognizable, yet versatile voice is featured on trailer style vocals, pop songs, and several other styles. In addition to writing her own songs, she toplines for other producers and composers. Using designed & edited vocals in her production music has created a distinct style that is uniquely her own. In addition to music, she has experience in V.O. for live broadcasted events and radio/podcast work.

Gina works from her studio in Burbank, CA collaborating with music, film, VR, and video game professionals around the globe. She is currently working on a solo record under the artist name, Matilda Stray.
